It’s all about animals at the Super Pet Expo in the Dulles Expo Center. This “animal extravaganza” runs from March 15 to 17 and will feature shopping, education, and entertainment opportunities all centered around pet ownership.

Leashed pets are welcome at the event, and they’ll get to play in the dog ball pit and run around in the 2,000-square-foot puppy playground. Other activities and entertainment include a showcase from dog trainer Bone-A-Fied Talent Group, the Doggie Derby race, and the Celebrity Catwalk pet fashion show.

If you bring your pet, you can capture a pawprint to take home, included in the price of admission.

Pet owners in attendance can purchase items like treats, clothing, grooming accessories, and toys from a roster of 100 exhibitors.

In addition to shopping opportunities, some exhibitors will offer classes or information to help educate attendees about important aspects of pet ownership. Kathy Brenner from the Animals’ House will give demonstrations about dog agility, and Gone to the Snow Dogs will share tips about how to make pets comfortable while traveling.

Want to check out critters that aren’t dogs or cats? Cool Zoo, an interactive wildlife travel exhibit, will showcase and teach viewers about animals, including exotic birds, a giant tortoise, hermit crabs, and butterflies.

Two 10th graders, Yvonne and Sky Zhu, will share a presentation about why small animals like hamsters, gerbils, mice, rats, guinea pigs, and rabbits make good pets.

For fans of snakes and lizards, Repticon will showcase hundreds of reptiles, provide advice on reptile care, and offer reptile products for sale.

Vets and animal rescues will be in attendance to address topics like pet adoption and health care.
